Before joining GHIF, David was known in Pallisa for his strength, not his skills. At 18, he’d helped with countless informal jobs—hauling bricks, digging trenches, mixing cement. But there was no pathway, no recognition, and no room to grow. What he needed wasn’t just work—it was a future with foundation.

When GHIF introduced its Building Construction program, David was one of the first to enrol. There, he learned not only the technical precision of measurement, formwork, roofing, and concrete mixing—but also discipline, teamwork, and mindset. He began leading group projects on classroom foundations and community toilets, earning respect not just for what he built, but how he led.

Now a certified graduate, David is contracted by a local firm—and returns weekly to GHIF as a part-time instructor, mentoring younger trainees in bricklaying and blueprint reading.

“GHIF didn’t just teach me to build walls. They helped me break through them” says David, Building Construction Graduate & Mentor.
